Yellow fire XAGT mechanical work. 9 Dec 2011
In the lead up to Christmas we have been trying to get everyone's cars finished. The Yellow fire XA is coming along. We are going through the car mechanically. The new owner purchased this XA from Tassie & only having it in Victoria for 3 days he brought it to GTR for us to go over it. The steering was very heavy in the car due to seized ball joint. We have rebuilt all the brakes including booster & brake master. We are upgrading the radiator to 3 core & fitting a shroud. The fuel tank has been removed due to rust in the tank. This is caused from stale fuel as you can see inside the tank. Even with a filter the rust still managed to work its way up to the carby. While the fuel sender is out we are making it a 3/8 sender by removing the old 5/16 pipe & soldering in a larger one. We are also fitting Ice ignition system & will give the car a good tune. We are also recoing the wiring loom & getting every thing working as it should. It will be a nice car to drive once finnished.
